At times during a WordPress core / plugin / theme update, you may be left with the following error on your website:

"Briefly unavilable for scheduled maintenace. Check back in a minute"

To get rid of this message and regain access to your website and WordPress admin control panel, you will need to delete the .maintenance file from your WP directory via FTP or cPanel file manager.
