We keep a daily backup of your entire cPanel account including all emails, databases, and files for up to 7 or 30 days depending on your web hosting plan. You have access to these backups from cPanel and you can easily restore your files at any time by logging into cPanel. (We highly recommend keeping a backup copy of your entire cPanel account on your local computer as well as a cloud storage service such as Google Drive or Dropbox)

Accessing Acronis backup from cPanel

  1. Log into your cPanel account (e.g. https://yourdomain.com/cpanel)
  2. Using the search bar, type in "Acronis backup" and click on the Acronis backup icon.

Note: It may take up to 10 minutes or longer for the recovery points to load, avoid refreshing the page during this time as this is normal behavior.
  3. Once the Acronis interface loads, you will see the date and time of each recovery point available. Click on the date you want to restore from.

  4. Select which of the following you want to restore from the Acronis interface,

  5. Select from either Files, Databases, Mailboxes, or Mail forwarders.
    • You can also restore the entire account by clicking the Recover Entire account button. This option will OVERWRITE all your files, databases, and emails. Do not use this option unless absolutely necessary and have a current backup of your account in its existing state.

    • To restore individual files, browse to the file directory where your files are located, select the file you wish to restore, and click on "Recover".
    • To restore an entire directory, select the checkbox to the left side of the and click on "Recover". This option restores and overwrites all files under that directory.

  6. After clicking "Recover" you will see a confirmation dialogue popup, to proceed click "Start recovery" from the popup menu.  A message will appear with In progress status, restores can take some time to finish depending on their size. Do not initiate multiple restores as it will lead to complications. When the backup is complete, a message with Succeeded status will appear.

If the backup restore fails or does not finish for over 2 hours, reach out to our team by opening a support ticket and provide us with the list of files/directories or databases you want to be restored and the date range.
